Time Out for Women

I LOVE Time Out for Women. If you have never been, you have to go. It is such a wonderful time to feel the spirit, feel renewed and build friendships. Time Out for Women started 9 years ago in Phoenix. I have been to 5 years now. It is put on through Deseret Book. It is a little different that Women's Conference at BYU (which is fabulous). We clap and yell and scream and cry and laugh. There is a session on Friday night and then all day on Saturday. This is the group I went with. I don't know all these people, but they were a fun crowd. Sarah is on the right end with me. She is my dear friend from my previous ward. She has since moved to Coolidge, so we don't see each other nearly enough. It was so fun to hang out with her for a couple of days. It was like old times. I miss her!! :)Me and Sarah in the convention center.
Here we are waiting for the Lightrail. It was fun to ride it from our hotel to the Phoenix Convention Center. I can't wait to take my kids on it. I think they would think it is pretty cool.
The presenters this year at TOFW were fabulous. On Friday night it was Virginia Hinckley Pearce, Wendy Watson Nelson and Sheri Dew. They are fabulous women with so much knowledge and experience. The theme this year was Infinite Hope. What a great theme. There is so much hope we can have in this life. I know things are hard, the world is out of control, but we can be hopeful, we can trust that the Lord knows each of us, knows what we are going through and what we need and He will BE THERE FOR US. How wonderful is that!!

What do I hope for? There are so many things I hope for in my life. I hope that someday I can go back to school. I hope that my kids will grow up to be kind, responsible people. I hope they will follow the gospel and the Savior. I hope that Jared and I will always be happy. And so many other things. Then, the next question is:

What do I have hope in? What are the things that get me through the trials of life? Prayer, scriptures, family, the Savior and so many other things. There is reason to have hope.
  • We were all sent to earth to complete our own individual mission.
  • Don't compare yourself to anyone else, because their mission is not the same as yours.
  • Pick a good pattern in your life and follow it and see what happens.
  • Stop pushing ourselves beyond our capabilities.
  • Just as we want to prove ourselves to our Heavenly Father, He wants to prove his love to us through blessings.
  • Grace= God with us
  • Jesus doesn't make up the difference, He makes ALL the difference.
  • Open your heart to find your purpose in life.
  • God is watching, give Him a show.
  • Our best is good enough!
  • You decide how you will react everyday, in every situation. You need to decide everyday to be happy.
  • Practice holiness!!
These are some things that I learned at TOFW this weekend. I have hope that I can put them into practice in my life. Can't wait for next year already. I am so glad that I have Women's Conference in between!
