Sometimes life is just hard...

This is Sabrina and her BFF Kaylie in their dance recital last May. It has been a tough couple of weeks. Kaylie got sick and had to be taken to the ER at Cardon Children's Hospital on Tuesday Dec. 7. They admitted her and she is still there. She has E Coli and there has been a hosts of complications since then. It has been something that I just can't stop thinking about. It is a terrible situation. Each day I call to check on her and there is something else that her little body is going through. I don't want to go into all the details of what has gone on medically, but I just want to say that life can change so quickly. Little Kaylie will be just fine - even stronger in the end, but it is so sad to watch her in the meantime.

Children should just not be aloud to get so sick. It breaks my heart each time I go visit to see her so sad and in pain. I can't imagine it happening to one of my children - and yet it almost feels like it is one of my children. Life can change in an instant. You never know what will happen one day to the next. Sometimes that makes me want to just keep my kids home and not let them out of my sight. Yet, I know that Heavenly Father is keenly aware of us and our needs and will always give us the strength we need to get through the really tough times. We have to trust in Him and know that the hard times will make us stronger as long as we cling to Him. Having this knowledge makes all the difference in the world as we go through things that try us.

I continue to pray daily that Kaylie will recover quickly and the worries of their life can go back to the normal everyday things like getting kids to pick up their toys or not flood the house or learning to share. We love you Kaylie and family and are grateful to have you in our lives.
