Let me just start off by saying that Jared and I are usually pretty boring and predictable when it comes to date night! We go out every Saturday night (which is awesome!!), and it is usually just dinner and a movie (most likely a $2 movie), or dinner and walking around at the mall or where ever, and then we end the night at Walmart (which is where we see many of our friends ending their date night! But, this was our Valentines Date and we wanted to do something a little different. We looked into a lot of things (ballet, hockey game, really expensive restaurant, etc) and decided on...
Indoor Go Kart Racing!!! We are not very romantic. We just like to be together and it was fun to do something we have never done together. Don't you love our awesome head dresses?!? Somehow, I ended up first in the line of cars to start the race. I knew that was not going to be a good thing. I have never done this before and knew I would be pretty slow until I figured out how to really do it. I wish we could have not had anyone else on the track with us. It would have been fun to race just Jared. He would have won, of course, but... needless to say, there were 4 other people on the track with us. 3 of them were guys that were REALLY into it. So, I was quickly passed by everyone and in last place all night! Oh well, I didn't really care. It was really fun, once I got the hang of it - which was right about the time the race was done.
This is not something we will be doing very often, since it is fairly expensive, but it was a fun thing to try. Here we are waiting for our names to be called to start our race!
And, as we were told countless times... "Don't forget to slow down into the turns!"
