A few months ago Jared and I started looking for a new house. It is a hard thing to decide to move away from somewhere you have been for the past 10 years and think about starting over in a new ward, making new friends and having your kids go to a new school. But, we felt ready for a change and though we knew we would be really sad to leave where we are, we thought it was time. Well, things didn't work out the way we thought (does it ever?). We couldn't find what we really wanted in a new house, or maybe it was a good house, but we didn't love the area or we just didn't have enough money to get what we really wanted. Whatever the situation, we are still in our house! That is just fine! I would LOVE another couple of rooms in my house, but we are fine. The one thing that I COULD NOT live with any longer was my carpet in my living room. (All the bedrooms need new carpet also, but I don't live in my kids' rooms, so the living room was a much bigger priority.) I also didn't love the tile we had in our kitchen. So, we called up a good friend in our ward that does flooring and set to make a change. I will have to say - we did an AMAZING job!! I love the new look and it makes my small house a little bit better! We have an inlay of carpet in the family room and the rest (entry, family room, kitchen and dining) are all tile. It looks like hard wood, but it is tile. The best of both worlds! I love the dark, rich look of it and it makes such a huge difference in the house!
