Goodbye new, beautiful table...

Of course, I put my pictures in the wrong order again, but oh well. So, I have been meaning to do a yard sale for a month or so and finally decided to just do it and get it over with and get all this stuff out of my garage. So, Jared told me that if I earned a certain amount from the garage sale I could use that money towards a new Kitchen table that I have been dreaming about for awhile now. I can't stand my kitchen table. It is too small, the chair cusions are dirty (and I can't replace them again because I have replaced them too many times and the wood is starting to split where I have stapled it in.) and it needs to be painted again, but I just don't want to do it. So I was all excited to make a lot of money on my yard sale and scoured the house looking for anything and everything I could get rid of. If I haven't used it in the last few months - I was outta here. So, I did quite well the first day of the sale (Friday), then came the second day (Saturday). I thought this would be the big day, but after 2 hours of sitting outside playing games on my phone and only saling $1.50 Jared convinced me to pack it in and go with him and the kids to the Desert Botanical Gardens to see the butterflies. So I did, only to find out from a friend of mine that was also having a yard sale, that it picked up big time and she made a ton of money! I keep trying to tell myself that it was just fine and that we made memories as a family and I didn't need to make the money for the table - but I was really bummed. Mostly because I knew that I had to do the sale again the next weekend. So, this last weekend I was out there again on Friday and Saturday and made enough money to make it feel worth it. So, I counted all my money and I made EXACTLY what Jared told me I had to make in order to get my new table. But, I don't get my new table because of the fact that my house if getting old and things are starting to fall apart. So, instead of spending my hard earned money on the thing that I REALLY wanted, I had to buy... This first picture is the old one...
This is the pretty new one!! It is so much better than my old one, although I will have to adjust my baking. My old oven cooked really hot!

This is also new.
So, in the space of one week, our dishwasher broke and our oven broke. Now, the dishwasher had been making a really loud high pitched squeal for a couple of weeks and we finally called someone to fix it. Well, he discovered it was the motor shaft and it would cost us about $300 to fix, so we opted to just buy a new one. Then, about 3 days later I was heating the oven to make brownies and it seemed to take a really long time to heat up. So, the next morning i turned it on to time how long it would take to heat to 400 degrees. Well, 27 minutes later, I finally turned it off and it was only heated to 300 degrees. I am sure it was just a heating coil gone bad and wouldn't have cost too much to fix, but this range is about 15 years old. We got it free from my mom and dad when they bought a new one. Jared has always hated it and so we decided to get a new one. My favorite thing about having to get one is that I was able to talk Jared into getting the over the range microwave. I have wanted one for a couple of years and now seemed like a good time to get one. So, even if I didn't get my new table (which my kids probably would have thrashed in a few months anyway), I did get one thing I wanted and I earned most of the money to pay for it!!
