Sand castles

A very large activity with the kids (and Brian) was building sand castles and/or seeing how big of a hole they could dig.
Brian's job was building the "defense" against the surf - ultimately it would eventually fail, but he gave it a valiant effort every day.
Weston was actually one of the least active contributors.
The builds got more elaborate as the days progressed.
Getting decent shovels also helped.

Then, one day, we went to see how the professionals do it at the U.S. Open of sandcastle building at Imperial beach in San Diego. We were duly impressed:

There were many more, but most were so huge that I couldn't get in a position to capture a good photo of them.
