School 2011

Today was the first day of school! ALL my kids are now in school! I have been waiting for this day for a long time. I am not a mom who cries on the first day of school. Maybe I should be sad. I am sad that they leave home and learn things I don't want them too, but I love to watch them discover the world around them. I love to watch them make new friends and see what kind of person they will grow into. I was so excited to take the kids to school and come home and enjoy the quiet. Maybe go get a pedicure, go out to lunch and just do whatever I wanted without worrying about the kids! Boy was I wrong! But, I will get to that later.

Caleb: is now in 6th grade! Last year in elementary school! How did that happen? Boy, I am getting old! He was so excited when he found out that he got Ms. Garland for a teacher. And the report after school was that she is hilarious! He also has lots of friends in his class so it should be a great year for him! He is a great student and loves to learn. He loves math and science. It is fun to watch him learn and grow and become his own person.

Gavin: is in 1st grade now. He is growing up so much. He is in Ms. Blackwell's class and when I asked him how his first day of school went he said, "It was perfect!" What an awesome answer!! I love this kid. He will have a wonderful first grade year. He is a great reader and loves math! I am excited to see all the things he will learn this year.

Sabrina: is in Kindergarten! My little girl in now in school all day long like her brothers! Sabrina has been going to school for most of her life and is an old pro. She has Ms. Bodrero. We were sad that Ms. Weinerth retired at the end of last year, but we are excited for Ms. Bodrero. Her best friend Kaylie is in her class along with lots of church friends. She is such a joy and loves to do art, color and is smart as a whip! When asked about her day, she will tell you just about every detail about it!

Boy, I sure do love these kids and am so excited to watch them grow and learn this year.

So, back to my day - I ended up working at the school most of the day. I started subbing during recess and lunch last year and now I am hoping to move onto becoming the 1st grade aide. That means that I would work with all the first grade teachers and help with kids that need a little extra. I hope it all works out!

Anyway, happy first day of school kids! I hope you had a blast! I love you all!!
